TRA staff conducts waters and wetland delineations to help with project design and with permit applications to state and federal agencies with jurisdiction over waters, including wetlands. We are experienced at providing the necessary documentation and preparing permit applications to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), California Regional Water Quality Control Board, California Department of Fish and Game, and local agencies with jurisdiction.
Our biologists are trained in the USACE (Cowardin et al. 1979) method of wetland delineation. TRA can assist clients with obtaining nationwide, individual or letter of permission permits from the USACE, Streambed Alteration Agreements with the California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG), Joint Aquatic Resource Permit Applications (JARPA) for projects that take place in the San Francisco Bay area, as well as other permits as necessary. In addition to actual wetland delineations, we prepare other necessary permitting documents, such as 404(b)(1) alternatives analyses. We are also familiar with the approaches used by the California Coastal Commission in coastal areas of California, Environmentally Sensitive Habitat Area (ESHA) policies and requirements, and with approaches identified in a variety of specific Local Coastal Programs.
