TRA Environmental Sciences (TRA) was founded in 1972 in response to emerging state and federal environmental legislation. Our office is in Menlo Park, California, on the San Francisco peninsula and our primary geographic service area is northern California. We are a full-service environmental consulting firm, specializing in environmental impact analysis under CEQA and NEPA; habitat conservation planning and implementation; special- status species surveys and biological assessments; regulatory permitting for endangered species and regulated wetlands; habitat enhancement and restoration; and mitigation monitoring. We provide technical support and analysis for a wide variety of clients and projects, including wind energy (renewable energy), land development, public facilities, transportation, and recreation projects.

As a small firm, we specialize in trust building and professional relationships. We provide a high level of support to our clients throughout the project process. Many of our clients use our services from start to finish on multi-faceted projects, and return to us for assistance on future projects. We collaborate with an established network of subcontractors when in-depth analysis is needed for various disciplines, such as traffic engineering, air quality, noise, cultural resources, geotechnical, hydrology and hydraulics, bioengineering and fluvial geomorphology.
